Apprentices from ArtWorks worked hard this summer to help preserve the legacy of Raymond Thunder-Sky on the side of Visionaries and Voices new studio in Northside. They were quite a team and really got into the tribute - wearing hardhats, construction vests, special collars and even clown noses when asked.
The design is by artist Antonio Adams and inspired by the work of Raymond. It includes a wrecking ball knocking down buildings to make way for a circus of course. I'm sure everyone knows Raymond's story by now... the famous Cincinnati construction clown who kept his art supplies in his toolbox and made many hundreds of works of art in a very visionary style. He is a big reason for the founding of Visionaries and Voices. One nice touch - the sky blue matches the front of the building perfectly.
Join us this Friday at 5:30 p.m. at V & V to dedicate this mural. There is also much new energy around Raymond. A brand new website, a new gallery here in Northside called Raymond Thunder Sky, Inc. will be opening soon and even promise of a new book being published in the future.
