At the Park
The weather is lovely and so June got in some good playing in at the park. She swung in the swing and rode down the slide and she discovered sticks. On the swing she said 'Wheeeeeeee'. And we saw our friends Jake and Finn. When Jake asked June what she had, she said 'a stick'.
Strawberry Skirt
Made this for June for the summertime. The pattern is the Sailboat Skirt by Oliver + S and the fabric is Heather Ross. It's the first time I tried out this pattern and I love the details of the kick pleat in the back and the panel with four buttons in the front.

Bockfest 2014
Bockfest brought with it some beautiful weather - it felt like the first official day of spring! We were so happy to be outside for our favorite Cincinnati parade. June enjoyed being downtown and seeing OTR bustling and full of people.
We visited Bockfest Hall but Grammers was way more fun. We ran into some good friends and enjoyed bock beer.

Rowe Woods
This past weekend was lovely with a soft white snowfall and warmer temperatures. Perfect for an outing. We headed to the woods for walking, sledding and to visit the maple syrup making at the Cincinnati Nature Center.
June enjoyed sledding
Until she fell into the snow face first.
but she was quickly back to her high spirits

Spring Colors
Thank goodness for the Krohn! We have been feeling a bit stir crazy with all this cold weather and needed an escape last weekend so we visited the lovely spring flower show at the Krohn.
June especially enjoyed the waterfall, the goldfish and the blown glass flowers floating in the water. With this long winter, we will likely make some return trips soon!
June's First Play
The Lexington Children's Theater came to town and performed Jack and the Wonder Beans and we took June! Lot's of our neighbors came to the play too and our next door neighbor Emmy even made a star appearance on stage! The performance was great and very animated with singing, guitar, large scale puppet giants and lots of audience participation (whooshing like the wind and buzzing like the bees).
Emmy the adorable cow
June and Clarissa were (mostly) mesmorized.

First and Last Christmas in Savannah
We had a wonderful time with Nana and Gogo in Savannah for Christmas. We helped set up the tree. Andy and Erv helped with luminaria on Calhoun Square. There were cocktail parties at neighbors houses including our favorite: milk punch on Christmas morning at Ron and Jim's. June enjoyed being with Nana and Gogo and gave Gogo a huge smile as soon as we got off the airplane. She greeted Nana with a big open arm hug every morning and loved playing with the cats, well mostly Big Willie who was the only one who let her come near. Opening presents on Christmas morning was pretty great too. We will definitely miss celebrating Christmas in Savannah but we were so glad that June got to experience Christmas there this year.
I love how she is looking at the card first!
Enjoying the clementine from her stocking!
Traditional eggs benedict breakfast on Christmas morning
Not really cooperating for the group photos
We visited Forsythe Park a fair amount to go to the playground where June enjoyed the swing set.
A sweet girl named Jasmine wanted to push June in the swing
We had a fun visit to Oatland Island, which is Savannah's version of a zoo but better because you get to walk through the woods and over marsh. It is an amazing setting. Gogo and June played in the giant nest.

Sleeping red fox
June's first time ever playing with kitties. She loved them.
Back at our house after the trip, all tuckered out from travel and a fun-filled holiday.
