Nana and June

Andy took this photo series on Diane's birthday! Everyone thinks June favors Andy and so hopefully that means June will also look a lot like her beautiful Nana.

June Meets Santa

Christmas at the Krohn

The Krohn Conservatory is one of our favorite places to visit and it does not disappoint at the holidays. On Thursday nights they are open late which is a perfect time to visit to take in all of the lights. June is really interested in lights and is very alert at night so we had a great time! Their Christmas tree is probably 20 feet tall and is lovely with handmade ornaments.

The holiday train display is fabulous and this is the best we've ever seen it.The tracks surround the entire room and the train rushes by magical lit up houses, crosses bridges, goes through tunnels and past wonderlands of poinsettias.

Santa happened to be there! He gave June a candy cane!

Outfits

Baby clothes are irresistible. But luckily we haven't had to buy many. All of our clothes have been given to us so far. Here are a few of June's best. A hand knitted sweater and bootie combo made by our dear friend Stephanie. June came home from the hospital in this sweater and continues to get a lot of wear out of it. The hood is perfect! We love it! And it is so very cozy.

Another beautiful hand knit sweater made by Biggy's mother for Alex when she was a baby. It is still in  wonderful shape. Precious.

Aunt Alex sent us great clothes she found second hand including this onesie and cardigan.

Our friend Yuko got this adorable bee outfit and bee socks in Japan for June!

June does rock some vintage. This was Aunt Alex's when she was a babe.

These days seems like all we take pictures of is June. Here are a few more from her first month. She is sleeping here in her wonderful basket under beautiful lilies sent for the occasion of her birth.

Lot's of sleeping this first month...

One Month Old

Thanksgiving

Our first with June. We are so very thankful for our little girl. This year for the holiday we gathered with the Houstons, Smiths and Moores at Biggy's house. It was great to have our family come to Cincinnati all the way from Georgia and California. We love it when we can all be together.

Biggy's home is so elegant and he is a marvelous host. And Biggy's brother Don roasts a very nice turkey in the manner of Julia Child. For a full idea of how he prepares this see our thanksgiving post from two years ago here

Nana and June. They like each other quite a bit.

Gogo and June. So sweet.

Aunt Alex!
Thankfully Alex got a full day of hanging and cuddling with her new niece. Poor Alex and Quinn were sick for the rest of the trip and so they kept their distance to keep little June from getting sick.

Melissa and Rob's Wedding - Pine Mountain, Kentucky

We took June on her first big trip to Eastern Kentucky to her Aunt Melissa's wedding. The wedding took place in a beautiful chapel at the Pine Mountain Settlement School. An incredible community of friends and family came from far and wide to celebrate the happy occasion with Melissa and Rob.

The happy couple. Rob's mother officiated the ceremony.

The weather was perfect. A gorgeous day for a wedding.
