This month June has started laughing. She has started eating solid foods. And she has started teething.

Our friend Liz took this photo while at our friend Jessie Henson's exhibit at the Emery Theater - part of the Music Now festival. Jessie is one of our favorite artists. She has been working on creating a series of personal skies, where viewers interact with the stars in an up close manner.

Opening Day

This year ArtWorks participated in the Opening Day Parade and we got tickets to the game! So we took June. It was a chilly day and luckily we had seats in the sun. Navigating the drunken crowd with a baby was a bit of a challenge. Not sure that we need to take June to any more ballgames this year. We definitely didn't stay to the end. A classic game with a whopping 13 innings. We left in the 8th inning before the temperature really dropped.

Somehow this little dear fell asleep amidst all the noise. We'll see if she turns out to be a baseball fan like her daddy.

We had a romantic anniversary weekend in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky. Rabbit Hash is only a 45 minute drive down the Ohio River but it is a great destination. It was nice to not travel too far. And it was nice that we could bring Hazel Roy along with June of course. Rabbit Hash is a quirky little town right on the river. There really isn't much to do there. The only thing open was the General Store. We pretty much had the town to ourselves. In fact on Sunday when the General Store was closed, we didn't see a soul and we had ourselves an easter egg hunt throughout the whole town. At night and in the mornings it was completely silent except for birdsong. There was a lovely view of the river and at night it glittered with reflections of lights from Rising Sun, Indiana. As soon as we arrived on Friday we saw the typical scene of bikers hanging out in front of the General Store. A couple had just gotten married inside next to the wood stove. We took a walk down the road and and saw a boat plane take off from the river. That night folks gathered inside the General Store for a potluck and pickup music. In Rabbit Hash, they have a dog for the Mayor. Her name is Lucy Lou. Dogs are friendly and none are on leash. Many came and visited Hazel Roy and just hung out on the front porch with us. In fact, every day there was a new dog on the porch lounging around with HR.
