On Mother's Day, John informed me the bees needed more space. In just two weeks they had built so much honeycomb that we needed to add a new layer for them to expand into. I went out the very next week and we tended the hive. We took out the queen's cage, which was now empty of the queen, and added our next stack.
We took off a piece of honeycomb that had been built up too high and to our surprise it was already full of honey! These ladies are very productive!
