New Rain Barrel

We decided to install a rain barrel by our new garden. But first we had to replace the old broken gutter or we would never have been able to collect any rain at all.

The old gutter was full of plants and debris.

A new gutter ready to collect rain!

HEY ANDY! Jeanne showed me the pictures in this post. This looks really good. Can't wait to come over and see it in person. I'm looking forward to meeting you at the 2 family tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.

Great work...looks awesome! Let me know if it works and if it's worth it. I guess you have to say "yes" at this point.

Hey Jake, We have been impressed how fast the barrel filled up with rain. It is a 55-gal drum and it was 3/4 full after 1 1/2 days. We haven't watered anything from it yet. Plan to today. Dunno what the water pressure will be like but there is supposed to be some, somehow. Also we have it up on a cinderblock platform which is also supposed to help. We will let you know soon how well it works.
